News Anchor/Reporter
Waco, Texas
Ally Kadlubar

Ally Kadlubar is from Lake Charles, Louisiana, and joins KWTX as the morning reporter.

Although she is a May 2022 graduate from LSU in Baton Rouge, Ally is an award-winning reporter with over three-and-a-half years of experience. She started her journalism career by joining LSU’s news station, Tiger TV. There, she discovered her passion for reporting.

Her reporting skills have not gone unnoticed. She was the recipient of the 2022 Louisiana Association of Broadcasters Student Broadcaster of the Year Award. She has placed in the top 20 for the national Hearst Journalism Awards in TV Features for two years in a row. Ally has also won and been nominated for Society of Professional Journalists regional awards and the Suncoast Student Production Awards.

While Ally is grateful to be recognized for the awards, her main priority is making an impact on her community with her storytelling.

She had the opportunity to help make a national impact by interning for NBC’s TODAY Show in the summer of 2021.

During her last semester at LSU, she reported for Baton Rouge station, WBRZ Channel 2. She worked as a part-time multimedia journalist and news apprentice while taking 15 hours of classes, reporting for the journalism school’s Statehouse Bureau, and working for LSU’s news station.

Ally is known for telling unique, impactful stories. Her broadcast story about how COVID-19’s shuttering of casinos affected local economies received statewide attention as well as her story about how segregated cemeteries are still present in Louisiana. Ally has reported on the housing market, inflation, performing arts, industries, hurricanes, legislation, shortages, tragedies, and more.

While Ally is new to Waco, Waco is not new to Ally. She grew up visiting family in Waco and West, Texas, and she has many fond memories of her trips to the area, including attending “Westfest” and getting kolaches from the Czech Stop. Reporting in Waco makes her feel closer to home.

If you have any unique, impactful story ideas you would like to share with Ally, please give her a call or email her.
