Jasmin Caldwell

Jasmin Caldwell is an award-winning journalist at KWTX who has spent nearly a decade telling the stories of Central Texas.

Throughout her career, Jasmin has covered several stories that gained national attention, including the disappearance and death of Fort Hood soldier Vanessa Guillén and the funeral of President George H.W. Bush. Her reporting has also been featured on national platforms including Dateline NBC, Investigation Discovery, BET, Essence Magazine and Nancy Grace.

In 2025, Jasmin received a Telly Award for her work on “Beyond the Battlefield,” a series examining issues affecting soldiers and the Fort Hood community.

Jasmin is a proud graduate of the University of Nebraska–Lincoln, where she earned her degree in broadcast journalism. She is also a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated.

When she’s not chasing breaking news or searching for her next story, there’s a good chance Jasmin is learning about the past. She loves history, particularly the stories and people who helped shape Central Texas, and enjoys spending her free time visiting local museums and historic sites.

Ask her to name her favorite Central Texas museum, though, and she’ll have a hard time choosing. It’s a tie between the Coryell Museum and Historical Center in Gatesville and the Milam County Historical Jail Museum in Cameron.

She says both are awesome!

After nearly a decade of calling Central Texas home, Jasmin is excited to serve the community with KWTX and tell the stories of the people who make this part of Texas so special.
